Upcoming In-Person Service


Hello Temple family!
We are excited to announce that we are in the planning phase of having our first in-person worship service. The Emergency Response Team met Monday night as planned and under the oversight of Dr Chris Bazal, we poured over a tremendous amount of information that has been made available to us from several organizations. Our plans are to have our first in-person service on Sunday May 24th. We will move this service to 11AM so that you will have time to attend your video Life Group and still make the service if you choose to attend.
We have a protocol draft written at this time but we are sharing this document among team members for necessary changes and edits to make sure it fits our church and to make sure we cover all of our bases for your safety and well being. We will release this protocol to you upon completion, along with other emails and a video address before the 24th.
Please keep in mind that this is new for all of us and the service will not look like it did before this pandemic for some time. It will be different, but different does not mean there will not be great fellowship and it does not mean our God will not be worshiped. We will and HE will!
Please recognize that we may not do things the way everyone wants them done. Much like a thermostat, 50 people would set it 50 different ways! We have to set reasonable precautions and protocols and move forward. Please pray for us and show mercy and grace as we work through all of this. "Unprecedented" has become a popular and fitting word and by definition, we have no precedent. The decision making process is difficult and tedious as we take the health and well being of the church, the people we love and have been given responsibility for very very seriously. Please recognize just because there is an in person service, you are not expected to attend if you are uncomfortable or if you are susceptible to illness due to a preexisting condition, have children or are elderly.
We will continue our online broadcasts of all services indefinitely so you may continue to utilize these until you are comfortable returning. Through prayer, seeking the Lord and taking all things that we can into consideration we are simply slowly moving in the direction of resuming in person services as best we can. The church is doing great, giving is strong, online participation is great and we can attribute ALL of this to the providence of our Great God! Stay tuned for more updates and know that I love you all.

MISSION: 24-7 PRAYER ROOM

Temple Baptist Church, along with other Colquitt County churches, has been invited to participate in the new "MISSION: 24-7 PRAYER ROOM" vision. This is an international, interdenominational prayer movement with over 25,000 prayer rooms in 78 nations who share a vision to revive the church and bring the lost to Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Colquitt County will kick off our involvement during Holy Week, Monday, March 25 at 12:00AM through Monday, April 1st, 12:00 AM. Temple has been asked to cover Thursday, March 28th, 12:00 AM until Friday, March 29, 12:00 AM. Thursday is the same day we are signed up for the Bible Reading on the Square. If you prefer, you can pray with someone during your chosen hour slot. The mission, going forward after Holy Week, is to hopefully keep the prayer room occupied every day with praying servants.
